Beschreibung

R-717 chillers offer a natural alternative to F-gases with excellent efficiency, wide operating limits, and manageable safety risks, both in heavy duty industrial use and in commercial applications.
Enex Technologies has developed two products with different construction, efficiency, dimensions, and maintainability to suit all needs. The heavy-duty range features an open-type screw compressor, which allows high serviceability, and an evaporative condenser, ensuring maximum efficiency, while guaranteeing a minimum refrigerant charge, thanks to the direct expansion evaporator.
The commercial range, in addition to a direct expansion evaporator, also features a semihermetic compressor with permanent magnet motor, which reduces the risk of leaks thanks to the absence of the shaft seal, and an air-cooled condenser, which avoids the consumption of water and the associated water treatments. Both products have an on-board pre-programmed controller and are therefore fully plug & play and easy to install, for all users including those with less training on R-717.
For an IT cooling application (water in/out: 21/15 °C), a seasonal efficiency simulation was carried out, comparing an R-717 commercial air-cooled chiller to equivalent equipment using R-1234ze, R-744 and R-290, based on the climate profile of Milan, Italy.
The results show that R-717 performs best, both at full and part load. The toxicity risks of R-717 are well known and manageable, considering that the perception threshold is much lower than the actual hazardous limits.
