Castolin Eutectic, the expert in welding, brazing and cladding solutions to increase industrial productivity, has recently announced the launch of its latest generation of powerful all-in-one brazing and flame cutting units: OHF 4.0, 6.0, 9.0 and 12.0. Utilising state-of-the-art dyomix® technology, the OHF gas generator converts water into a clean, virtually C02-free hydrogen-oxygen fuel gas. At the touch of a button, the innovative electrolysis technology continuously produces a fuel gas for a low-odour, low-noise high-performance flame at a temperature of around 2700 °C without UV radiation.
The OHF generator is available in 4 power levels from 4 - 12 kW/h and a gas production capacity of up to 3200 litres/hour. Up to 4 soldering torches can be operated simultaneously. The range of applications extends from classic flame soldering applications in the heating, air conditioning, tool, automotive and electrical industries to applications in the craft sector, such as jewellery production. The fuel gas produced is also suitable for use in flame cutting technology.
The OHF devices are simple and intuitive to operate, save setting time and increase productivity: when switched on again, the devices continue with the last selected setting. The usual torch settings in oxyfuel technology are completely eliminated, as the fuel gas mixture for an ideal flame is already preset. Thanks to its unique design, the rotary connection at the torch inlet and the slim gas hose, the torch enables efficient and fatigue-free working. Another practical feature of the appliances is that they are on castors and can therefore be moved quickly and safely from one place to another. There is no need for risky storage and handling of heavy pressurised gas cylinders. Only an electrical connection is required for operation. Of course, safety is also taken into account: each appliance has several safety systems such as flashback arrestors, automatic leak testing and piezoelectric ignition. There is no storage of hydrogen.
Reduces the carbon footprint of soldering
The OHF devices can generate a high-power flame from water as required, very economically and without the consumption of fossil fuels. This reduces the carbon footprint and makes a positive contribution to occupational safety and the environment. The room air is not polluted by combustion residues from fossil fuels.
