Product information

Lombarda Raccordi Srl Heavy Line Series of copper fittings are designed and manufactured for conditioning and cooling machines or any other applications that requires a higher pressure than standards.

These fittings are produced from seamless copper pipes (Cu-DHP, number CW024A) with Cu+Ag=99,9% min composition, according to EN 12735-1/2 and suitable for use with all the main refrigerant gases.

The range has been tested in laboratory to simulate working cycles with highly prohibitive condition, with temperatures between -45°C (-49°F) and +120°C (+248°F) and pressures up to 80 bar (1120 psi). At the end of the tests no fittings showed leaks, micro-cracks or materials breakage.

Some samples were also subjected to pressure test and break test, confirming theoretical expectations: breaking pressure of 164 bar (2296 psi) for a 54 mm Tee fitting and 150 bar (2100 psi) for a 54 mm Bend fitting, both with a thickness of 2,0 mm.

“HL Series - Heavy Line” copper fittings was created to satisfy the request of modern compressors for fittings with seal pressure higher than standard.

Starting with the information contained in current regulations regarding pressure vessel and crossing them with the reference literature in terms of chemical/physical characteristics of the fittings, of soldering-brazing processes and the admissible tensions, we define some thickness values that allow the fittings to withstand pressures in excess to what prescribed by the standards EN 1254-1.

The designer must always check the correct safety factors, the thickness and the pressures related to the specific installation, carefully evaluating all the variables and environmental protection.
