Expert knowledge for all

From refrigerants to circular economy - Chillventa 2024 offers a platform for further education and dialogue.

Expert gives a presentation at a forum at Chillventa

Refrigerants, heat pumps, energy transition, sustainability, circular economy, skilled personnel shortage: These are just some of the topics that the Chillventa community is focused on this year. Experts travelling from all around the world to Chillventa in October 2024 will be able to get information from the specialist forums, exhibition stands and special presentations, acquire knowledge and enjoy face-to-face discussions with speakers or stand personnel. Chillventa is where visitors find solutions for specific questions and see the latest products. Anyone needing more in-depth professional knowledge, for example about the scientific aspects of refrigeration or heat pump technology, should head for the Chillventa CONGRESS the day before the exhibition.

“Knowledge transfer, and bringing the right people together, are key components of Chillventa, in keeping with the motto: Chillventa Connecting Experts. In the specialist forums, renowned speakers and companies will present cutting-edge topics in more than 200 presentations – it’s professional expertise at first hand,” says Dr Rainer Jakobs, who coordinates the supporting programme for Chillventa and the European Heat Pump Summit. “At the exhibition, in the forums, and last but not least, in the Chillventa CONGRESS, the focus this year will be on the heat pump and refrigerants in the context of sustainability and the circular economy. However, digitalisation, energy performance, the IT security of refrigeration systems, eco-design, efficiency through controls, innovation in heat transfer, air conditioning and waste heat utilisation in data centres, heat recovery and many more topics will also be covered by prestigious international experts and companies,” Rainer Jakobs continues.

Knowledge hub for visitors: four forums in the exhibition halls

Visitors to Chillventa, who, in addition to the discussions at the stands of the exhibiting companies are looking for specific answers to current questions or want to expand their knowledge, should definitely visit the four specialist forums.

Interested visitors can get an overview of the forums in advance at:
www.chillventa.de/en/events-programme/specialist-forums

where you’ll find compact information about presentations on the following topics:

  • Refrigeration technology in Hall 7A
  • AC, ventilation & heat pumps in Hall 4A
  • Applications, Training & Codes of Practice in Hall 8
  • PRACTICAL GUIDE TO DIGITALISATION in Hall 9

Over the three days of the event, the experts will present a wide range of topics, ranging from refrigerants: “A new outlook on refrigerant alternatives: addressing applications, affordability, safety and future-readiness”, to F-gases: “The amendments to the F-gas regulation”, the circular economy: “Circular economy and consequences for the ventilation and fan industry”, certifications: “The urgent need for a single heat pump certification: current and future challenges” to sustainability: “HVAC sustainable transition: R-744 heat pumps for both retrofits and new installations”, or energy-related topics like  “Energy efficiency at the highest level: heat pump cascade revolutionises heating and cooling processes in milk processing”, or digitalisation: “Social media marketing – a chore, or a fun way to communicate with customers?”

Chillventa CONGRESS – in-depth, scientific expertise at its finest

Renowned international speakers share their knowledge from research, development and practice and provide information about the latest policy frameworks in Germany, elsewhere in Europe, and worldwide. This year’s congress programme consists of the following thematic streams focusing on sustainability, heat pumps, refrigerants, industrial applications and the energy transition.

  • 8th Innovation Day Refrigeration Technology: Trends and challenges in compressors for heat pumps (in German) including the topics high-temperature heat pumps, Heat to cool: compressor technology for sustainable heating; Water as refrigerant, Thermal management for electric vehicles, Simulation of a new type of oscillating piston compressor.
  • ASERCOM + EPEE Symposium (in English) Implementation and next steps for the F-gas Regulation; Opportunities and challenges; Current developments in PFAS; Eco-design, sustainability and interplay between legislation; How can the energy grid cope with the RACHP energy transition?; Technological and geopolitical challenges on the road to zero emissions.
  • Heat Pumping Technologies for Commercial and Industrial Applications (in English) including the topics: Industrial drying, Heat pumps in a circular economy, Safety with flammable refrigerants, Steam Compressors for Heat Pumps, Pure Refrigerants vs. Zeotropic Mixtures in Heat Pumps; How semi-hermetic compressors can simplify the switch to R717. Smart Heat Pumps; Thermal energy storage with a heat pump. Energy-efficient air conditioning of data centres (in German) focusing on waste heat utilisation, water cooling as heat supplier, “direct liquid cooling”; “immersion cooling”, Energy Efficiency Act EnEfG.
